Alrighty folks, it’s time to get down to it. My name is Christine, you may already know that, or you may just be a stranger passing by. Obviously, if you’re reading this, I did something right by catching your eye! Of course, you may stop now if you’d like…or…if it suits you, continue forth.
Now, I am a mother of two boys (born the same day six years apart), late twenties, I work in an OBGYN/Medi-Spa office, and I am married to, well, my husband of course! I enjoy my family…and my alone time. Ehem, you didn’t read that! This year, my goal is to be selfish! Shhhhh! You didn’t read that either! It is time to put aside always pleasing others and to absorb the happiness within. As my husband quite frequently tells me, “only you can make your happy!”
It’s Tuesday and I’m home with a teething one year old!
Yaaaay! He is normally this sweet, happy, pleasant boy that I absolutely adore and rave about….ehh today is not one of those days! I have accomplished forcing the tot to nap and sitting on my duff while he did so! Then we had a battle of throwing pureed carrots because I used the wrong spoon for his precious little gums. I am not quite famished, yet.
We all want to live this “picture perfect” life and attempt to do so by portraying our lives in an exotic state of mind at all times. You don’t need that, I don’t need that, nobody needs that. It started with books and moved to entertainment and now social media. We are human, we will never reach perfection, but we can always live our happy.
Today, take one section of your day, and do something for you. Breathe deeply, take a shower a little longer, look at the sky, absorb yourself in you.
